Scholarship Opportunities
The Foundation contributes to the success of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, and its 14 universities and students.
Through its various scholarship programs, the PASSHE Foundation supports all 14 PASSHE universities by providing scholarships to their students. Over the past three years, the Foundation awarded nearly 700 scholarships totaling almost $1 million.

Minnie Patton Stayman Scholarship
$1,000 |
- Recipient of Stayman Scholarship must live in the city of Altoona
- Must have financial need based on standard needs analysis for a financial aid application

Wayne G. Failor Scholarship Fund
Amount dependant on available funds |
- Must be a student of West Shore School District in Cumberland and York Counties
- Must major in business, accounting or a related major

James A. Hughes Memorial Scholarship
$1,500 |
- Must have attended a high school within the Philadelphia School District
- Must have financial need

Robert Noyce Scholarship
$7,500-$10,000/yr up to two years.
Stipend: Max. of $10,000 for one year. |
- Scholarship applicants must be junior or senior undergraduate students who are majoring in science, technology, engineering or mathematics at a State System university.
- Scholarship recipients are required to teach one year in a high need school district for each semester of scholarship received.
- Stipend applicants must have earned a degree in science or mathematics and are required to complete certification requirements at a State System university to teach secondary math or science within two years of the initial award.
- Stipend recipients are required to teach in a high need school district for two years for the one-year award.

Arthur Williams Phillips Scholarship

- Must be a resident of Butler, Clarion, Forest, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, or Venango Counties in Pennsylvania
- Must have positive academic success
- Must have financial need

George Griffiths/Ada Jakubic Scholarship

- Must be the son or daughter of a member of the Union of Needletrades, Industrial, and Textile Employees, AFL-CIO (UNITE!)
