Scholarship Opportunities

The Foundation contributes to the success of the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education, and its 14 universities and students.

Through its various scholarship programs, the PASSHE Foundation supports all 14 PASSHE universities by providing scholarships to their students. Over the past three years, the Foundation awarded scholarships totaling almost $1 million.

 

Scholarship Name/Amount: Basic Student Eligibility:
Dr. Lou Bohl-Fabian Memorial Fund
  • Graduate students at PASSHE universities that are involved in studies focused on research, the environment/outdoors, political science or the arts
  • Must have GPA of 3.5 or better
John C. Cavanaugh (International Study)
$750
  • Full-time undergraduate students at PASSHE universiies
  • Must be a Pell Grant of PHEAA recipient
  • Resident of PA
  • Must be participating in a institutionally approved overseas program
  • Must be in good academic and judicial standing
Fitz Dixon Memorial Scholarship
Amount dependant on available funds
  • Undergraduate students that have passed 45 credits at a PASSHE university with at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Graduate students that have passed at least 9 credits at a PASSHE university with at least a 3.5 GPA
Wayne G. Failor Scholarship Fund
Amount dependant on available funds
  • Must be a student of West Shore School District in Cumberland and York Counties
  • Must major in business, accounting or a related major
William D. Greenlee Scholarship
$2,500 ($1,250 per semester)
  • Undergraduate students that have passed 60 credits at a PASSHE university with at least a 3.0 GPA
  • Must major in political science, journalism or communications
  • Must have financial need
Highmark Scholarship
$1,000
  • Must be an incoming freshman
  • Must major in a health-care related field
James A. Hughes Memorial Scholarship
$1,500
  • Must have attended a high school within the Philadelphia School District
  • Must have financial need
M&T Bank Scholarship
$1,000
  • Must be an incoming freshman at a PASSHE university
  • Must reside in Cumberland, Dauphin or Franklin counties
  • Must have financial need
  • Must show academic promise – top 25% of high school graduating class and GPA of 3.0 or better
Momentum, Inc. Healthcare Scholarship
$1,000
  • Must reside in Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Juniata, Mifflin, Perry or York counties
  • Must be a full-time junior or senior at a PASSHE university
  • Must have a major in a health-care related field including biology and healthcare informatics
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or better 
PSECU (International Study)
$2,000
  • Full-time undergraduate students at PASSHE universiies
  • Must be a Pell Grant of PHEAA recipient
  • Resident of PA
  • Must be participating in a institutionally approved overseas program
  • Must be in good academic and judicial standing
Quido and Anna Pichini
$1,000
  • Full-time student or incoming freshman at a PASSHE university
  • Must be a PA resident.  Berks county residents given preference
  • Must have GPA of 3.5 or better (high school or university)
  • Must participate in voluntary service at his/her university, high school or community
Arthur Williams Phillips Scholarship
$1,000
  • Must be a resident of Butler, Clarion, Forest, Jefferson, Lawrence, Mercer, or Venango Counties in Pennsylvania
  • Must have positive academic success
  • Must have financial need
Stephen and Sandy Sheller Scholarship
$1,000
  • Must be a full-time student at a PASSHE university pursuing an undergraduate degree leading to a career in law, art therapy or social services.
  • Must have passed 60 credits with a GPA of 3.5 or better.
  • Must have financial need.
Wells Fargo
$1,000
  • Must be an incoming freshman at a PASSHE university
  • Must reside in Allegheny, Berks, Bucks, Carbon, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lackawanna, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Luzerne, Monroe, Montgomery, Northampton, Philadelphia, Pike or York county in PA
  • Must demonstrate financial need as determined by FAFSA
  • Must be in the top 25% of high school graduating class with a GPA of 3.2 or higher
